Discussion and Comment Rules
We welcome your participation and value diverse viewpoints. To maintain a respectful and productive discussion space, all comments must follow these guidelines:
Be respectful. Treat others with courtesy. Personal attacks, harassment, or threats will not be tolerated. Focus on ideas, not individuals.
Stay on topic. Comments should relate directly to the article or topic at hand. Off-topic discussions may be removed.
No hate speech or discrimination. Comments that attack or demean based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected status will be removed.
Avoid misinformation. Do not post false information, unverified claims, or conspiracy theories. Constructive debate is encouraged, but facts matter.
No spam or self-promotion. Avoid posting advertisements, unrelated links, or repetitive content.
Policy Updates. Fort Collins Report may update these policies at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes via site announcements.
Keep it legal. Do not post content that is illegal, infringes on copyrights, or violates others’ privacy.
Use appropriate language. Profanity and vulgarity are discouraged. Keep the conversation civil and professional.
Moderation rights. The Fort Collins Report reserves the right to remove any comment that violates these guidelines or disrupts constructive discussion. Repeat offenders may be blocked from commenting.
Reporting concerns. If you see a comment that violates these rules, use the report feature or contact us at [email protected]
Registration Requirements. Users must provide accurate and current information, including a valid email address. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials.
Account Suspension or Termination. Fort Collins Report reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these policies guidelines, privacy policy, or terms of service.

Creating an Account
- Navigate to the discussion log in link at the top of this page or here: Registration
- If you have a WordPress account, you may register with such account; or, you may register with a local username and password.
- To register a local username and password, click “Log in with username and password”.
- Click register. Enter a username and email address. A registration email will be sent to the address you provided.
- Navigate to your email provider and locate the password setting link.
- Provide a strong password.
- Navigate back to the login page following the prompts provided after setting your password.
- Provide your credentials.
- Discussion features should now be enabled.
- To log off, navigate to the bottom of any FCR webpage. A button to log off is in the bottom right hand corner of the webpage.
