Fort Collins residents have until Oct. 4 to weigh in on plans for the city’s future intercity passenger rail station, which will serve the Colorado Connector, or “CoCo,” passenger rail service.
The City of Fort Collins has launched an online questionnaire to gather feedback on station amenities, transportation connections and the long-term vision for the area surrounding the proposed station location at the existing Drake MAX Bus Rapid Transit station near Drake Road and College Avenue.
CoCo is a planned intercity passenger rail service designed to connect major cities, job centers and destinations across the Front Range.
Starter service is scheduled to begin Jan. 1, 2029, with three daily round trips between Fort Collins and Denver Union Station. Initial stations will feature relatively simple infrastructure adjacent to Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway tracks, including ADA-accessible boarding platforms, safety lighting, security cameras, fencing, emergency call boxes, sheltered waiting areas and wayfinding signage.
The survey asks residents how they would use the service, what destinations they would travel to, how often they expect to ride and which station amenities are most important. Respondents can also share their vision for how the Midtown area around the station should develop over the next two decades.
City officials say the feedback will help guide decisions on future station improvements and strengthen connections to local transit, neighborhoods, trails and community destinations.
The survey takes approximately five to ten minutes to complete and is available through Oct. 4 at the city’s station readiness study website.
